Treadle Hammer KIT with Air Assist AND Heavy Hammer Upgrade
Treadle Hammer KIT with Air Assist AND Heavy Hammer Upgrade
This treadle hammer kit is a complete bolt together kit and includes the air assist upgrade and the heavy hammer upgrade.
A welder is not required for assembly. The build will require basic hand tools (ie: drill bits, drill, wrenches, etc.) It can be assembled in as little as 60 minutes, onto a 2" x 4" stud. All that you will need to provide is an anvil to beat upon.
The heavy hammer upgrade kit (included in the purchase) provides a 42lb hammer head weight. Included is a new, interchangeable die system that works with 1” x 1” hardy tooling. Also included is a bottom die block. We include a hardy stem and flange kit for welding your own dies. The heavy hammer upgrade has an upgraded spring pack to handle the increased weight. It has a bolt together design for easy assembly just like the body of the treadle hammer kit.
The kit will come with a link to an instructional how-to-build video plus everything you need to assemble.
The treadle hammer bracket and side of heavy hammer now features a cut out of our logo on it.
You can see the whole hammer in use at this video of us showing off the heavy hammer kit: https://youtu.be/C0o4ZQf_CxA
Shipping Note: We will ship this out via UPS regardless of selected shipping, unless you add in note to seller, "Ship out USPS only". Feel free to select the cheapest shipping option shown to you during checkout.

Watch the video links that come with the kit. That and laying it out before you assemble really helped me out. Then I watched some of the other video's where they used this hammer and saw that their top bracket was higher than I had it. The side braces, brackets, I think, are a must though. It really helps keep the wobble down. I uploaded some pictures and a video ( hopefully shows).
There are some adjustments that you probably will need to do. For example I have concrete blocks around the bottom of my basement. I had to raise up the bottom bracket to fit.
Expect to spend some time getting used to how to use the hammer. My air compressor wouldn't cycle the pressure up to where I wanted it between pedal presses. So, I needed to adjust the pressure up some. Catching the hammer at the high point of the arc before pressing the pedal makes a huge difference.
All the parts are stout and I do not have a worry about them. They are easily replaced when they wear out years down the road.
The Treadle hammer works great! Having the ability to add dies really expands what you can do with a treadle hammer. I feel like this kit opens up a lot of options for someone not wanting to spend thousands for a power hammer. Had some difficulty getting the hammer tuned but I reached out with questions and Roy set up a video call with me to help. Overall its a great kit if you need a striker or a faster way to draw out material.
