About Us

Our Services
A blacksmith is traditionally defined as someone who forges and shapes metal using an anvil and hammer. Today, blacksmiths craft a wide range of items, from kitchenware and wrought iron gates to grills, railings, light fixtures, and more. At Christ Centered Ironworks, we specialize in hand-forged ornamental ironwork, including custom furniture, handrails, and sculptures. Each piece we create is unique and cannot be replicated or mass-produced, offering a level of craftsmanship and quality that only hand forging can achieve. We also provide site-specific installations tailored to the unique needs of our clients. In addition to our own creations, we support fellow blacksmiths by supplying CNC-cut metal blanks, helping them grow and expand their businesses.

Our Origin
Christ Centered Ironworks is owned and operated by artist blacksmith Roy Adams, based in Harrisville, Michigan. Roy began his blacksmithing journey in 2008, and after a life-changing car accident ended his career in HVAC, he formally opened the business in 2012 in Dayton, Ohio. During his recovery, Roy turned to blacksmithing as a way to support his family and find fulfillment. He reflects, “I was able to work at my own pace, and have the fulfillment I desired from working with my
hands.” In 2019, Christ Centered Ironworks relocated to the peaceful surroundings of northern Michigan, where Roy continues to create his
one-of-a-kind works of art.

Our Mission
We are frequently asked about the meaning behind our company name, Christ Centered Ironworks. Roy often responds by saying, “I believe God has gifted me with the ability to work with my hands, and I want to return that glory to Him.” Our mission is twofold: to educate others about the art of blacksmithing and to treat people with the same kindness and respect that Jesus would. Christ Centered Ironworks is the result of our deep passion for both Jesus Christ and blacksmithing, and we strive to combine these passions in a way that is both meaningful and relevant in today’s world.

Thomas Goodemoot
Hello everyone, I’m Thomas Goodemoot and I’m from rural northern Michigan. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had a love for working hot metal. When I was a young boy, my friends and I would build camp fires to heat steel and make knives, like most kids want to make, not really knowing what we were doing but we kept at it and got better and started making other tools. It was a blast to see what we could make out of scrap. The only rule our parents had was no power tools. When I was twenty, I joined the army where I served four years and deployed twice as a mechanic- once to Iraq and then to Afghanistan. In my off time I still would make stuff out of scrap steel. When I got out, I started watching a lot of YouTube, and three years ago I built my own forge and collected some tools and started the craft back up. I began to fix some of my old farm equipment. With a lot of failures, I soon got better. Practices makes improvement. In 2021, I had a chance to meet Roy and as we talked, it was the beginning of a great friendship. Roy got my attention off of only making knives and tools, and on to other great blacksmithing projects. What a blessing Roy has been and his willingness to share his knowledge of the trade. I am so grateful to be able to work and learn with him and grow as a blacksmith. I’m looking forward to what the future holds. Thank you and God bless.
