Roy Adams has been teaching and demonstrating blacksmithing since 2013 throughout the midwest and at Christ Centered Ironworks located in Harrisville, Michigan. The small town of Harrisville is located between Tawas City and Alpena on Lake Huron.
Private blacksmithing lessons are customized to meet each student’s interest and skill level. Beginner blacksmithing students can learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing. More advanced level students can focus on forging specific projects or learning certain techniques. Students may choose to bring a sketch of a project they wish to make.
Beginner blacksmith classes will include basic shop safety, management of coal and propane forges, basic forging processes and hammering techniques.
There are an endless variety of projects you may wish to forge, it is limited only by your imagination. A few examples are a rose sculpture, a pot rack, a door knocker, and kitchen utensils to name a few.
Christ Centered Ironworks does not have sleeping facilities on site. There are several accommodations nearby including a bed and breakfast, Harrisville State Park camping and cabins, and an assortment of cottages.
Lessons at Christ Centered Ironworks are available for a single day or multiple days. Classes are scheduled 30 days in advance. The level of project completion will be dependent on time and student’s skill level.

A $150 non-refundable deposit will be due at time of scheduling the class to hold the date. The remaining balance can be paid in cash or check at time of class.
